Web design for e-learning platform

Project overview

IT Dojo is a local e-learning platform built for aspiring developers, offering comprehensive programming courses ranging from HTML and CSS to JavaScript, Git, #C, .node, Phyton, etc. I joined the project as a returning collaborator, responsible for designing the website experience and establishing its visual language. While the logo, typography, and color palette were already in place, the overall web concept, interface design, and graphic assets were developed by me.

The challenge

Beyond functionality, the challenge was to create a product that appealed to a younger audience entering the tech industry while standing apart from more generic online learning platforms. Before moving into design, I explored established learning platforms to understand common UX patterns and identify opportunities to introduce more personality without sacrificing usability. The final direction combines a clean, modern interface with subtle retro web influences. Inspired by early desktop operating systems, I introduced Windows-style pop-ups, layered interface elements, and playful graphic details throughout the website. These nostalgic touches gave the platform a recognizable visual identity while keeping the experience lightweight, approachable, and easy to navigate.

The Results

The result is a design that feels both contemporary and familiar, balancing technical credibility with a sense of curiosity and playfulness. The platform was successfully designed, developed, and launched, providing students with a polished environment for learning programming online.
